Survival Log Platforms: Switch, PS5, Xbox, Mac and Linux
Quick answer

Why "Survival Log Switch" is such a common search
The Switch query is the most searched platform question about this game, and the reason is structural: Survival Log looks like a Switch game. It is a compact, single-player, menu-heavy management sim with a cosy-adjacent art style and a low price — exactly the profile of the indie catalogue that thrives on Nintendo's store. Games with this shape usually do reach handhelds eventually.
But "usually eventually" is not an announcement. As of this update there is no Survival Log Switch listing, no dated port, and no statement from the developer. Anyone telling you a release window is inventing it.
Ports are announced through the publisher's channels and appear as store listings before release. Watch the Steam news feed on the game's page and Lilith Games' own channels — both are in the Official Links group in this site's footer. If a Survival Log Switch or PS5 version is ever confirmed, it will show up there first, not on a wiki.
Playing Survival Log without a Windows gaming PC
If you are on a Mac, a Linux desktop or a handheld, there is no supported native path — but there are workable ones. Each has a real trade-off, and the game's interface makes some of them worse than others.
| Approach | Works? | Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Remote Play from your own PC | Good | Needs a Windows PC on your network, and latency hurts the shop UI less than it would an action game |
| Proton on Linux / Steam Deck | Unverified | No compatibility rating; may work, may not, and Valve has not tested it |
| Windows VM on Apple Silicon | Poor | GPU passthrough is the blocker; the game wants a GTX 1060-class card |
| Cloud gaming services | No | Survival Log is not on GeForce NOW or any streaming catalogue |
| Boot Camp | No | Intel Macs only, and that hardware is end-of-life |
Steam Deck deserves a note of its own. Survival Log is dense with small UI text, drag-and-drop inventory grids and item tooltips — the exact interface style that suffers most on a seven-inch screen. Even if Proton runs it cleanly, the shopping phase is likely to be fiddly with trackpads. Treat Deck play as an experiment, not a plan.
Language support
Survival Log supports two languages, and unusually for an indie release both get complete treatment:
- English — full interface, audio and subtitles.
- Simplified Chinese (简体中文) — full interface, audio and subtitles.
Nothing else is offered at launch: no Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish or Russian. Given how text-dense the item descriptions and cooking system are, playing outside those two languages means missing a lot. A handful of untranslated string keys have also been spotted in the English build — one official screenshot shows a raw placeholder in an action button — which is logged on our known issues page.
Survival Log FAQ: Platforms
Is Survival Log on Nintendo Switch?
No. There is no Survival Log Switch version and none has been announced. The Steam store page lists Windows as the only supported operating system, and no Nintendo eShop listing exists.
Is Survival Log on PS5 or Xbox?
No. Survival Log has not been released on PlayStation or Xbox, and no console port has been announced by Midnight Workshop or Lilith Games.
Can I play Survival Log on Mac?
Not natively. Survival Log ships a Windows build only. Apple Silicon Macs have no supported route; Intel Macs could historically use Boot Camp, but that path is gone on modern hardware. Cloud streaming from a Windows PC you own is the practical option.
Does Survival Log work on Linux or Steam Deck?
There is no native Linux build and Valve has not published a Steam Deck compatibility rating for Survival Log. Windows-only Unity-style titles frequently run through Proton, but this is untested rather than supported — see our system requirements page.
Does Survival Log have Chinese language support?
Yes. Survival Log ships with English and Simplified Chinese, both with full audio and subtitles. The developer and publisher are both Chinese studios, so Chinese is a first-class language rather than a machine-translated afterthought.
