Survival Log Wiki

Everything about the 2026 zombie hoarding survival sim — what to buy in the ten-hour prep phase, how to power and fortify your safehouse, and how each of the endings is triggered.

Quick answer

Survival Log is a zombie-apocalypse hoarding survival simulation developed by Midnight Workshop and published by Lilith Games, released on Steam on 12 August 2026. You are given ten in-game hours and a fixed amount of cash to stockpile food, fuel, furniture and fortifications before the city falls — then you live inside the safehouse you just built, managing hunger, morale, power and zombie sieges until the run ends. Death is not a reset: each loop carries your knowledge forward.

The Survival Log core loop in 60 seconds

Survival Log splits cleanly into two halves, and almost every mistake new players make comes from treating them as one continuous game. Here is the whole structure:

  1. Pick a background. You start as a worker, a college student or a warehouse clerk. Each background changes your starting cash, carry weight and which skills come easily. Compare the roles.
  2. Spend ten hours shopping. A countdown clock runs at the top of the screen while you move between the discount supermarket, the hardware and renovation stores and the farmers' market. Every item has a weight and a grid size, and you are constantly fighting the Encumbered state. The prep checklist is the single most valuable page on this wiki.
  3. Install everything before the clock hits zero. Furniture, appliances, doors and windows all consume limited home slots and take real installation time — a microwave takes 1m 40s. Anything still in a box when the outbreak lands is dead weight.
  4. Survive the first week. Hunger, stamina, morale and life all tick down. You cook, sleep, board windows, and try not to burn stamina on wasted trips.
  5. Keep the lights on. Diesel generators, manual generators and solar panels each fail in different weather. Blackouts during a cold wave are the most common way a promising run dies. Power guide.
  6. Hold the sieges. Zombie sieges hit on a schedule and chew through door and window durability. Traps, barricades and reinforcement work are what carry you to the ending. Late-game defense.

Day 16, "Undead Swarm! Part II" — Survival Log shows live durability numbers on every door and window.

What makes Survival Log different from other survival games

Plenty of games ask you to survive a zombie outbreak. What makes Survival Log unusual is that the hardest decisions all happen before a single zombie appears. The prep phase is a shopping and logistics puzzle with a hard clock, a hard budget and a hard weight limit, and the rest of the run is you living with those choices.

Four systems give the game its character:
